St James Quarter
We were originally retained to provide marketing project management services to St James Quarter in 2020. It’s a vibrant lifestyle district in Edinburgh’s city centre, with 1.7 million square feet of art, culture, fashion, food and leisure venues. Since then, we’re proud to have worked with St James Quarter on a wide range of projects since it opened its doors and become the beating heart of Scotland’s capital.
The challenge
Our role was to support St James Quarter to ensure a successful opening, and we had to work around the Covid restrictions which were in force at the time. They needed an agency that could successfully integrate with the internal team; one that would be reactive and flexible enough to immerse themselves in St James Quarter’s world.
The solution
Our expertise in marketing project management was key to managing multiple workflows and ensuring every deadline was met and every box was ticked. We oversaw all project strands to meet agreed goals and objectives with full management reporting to the senior team. We acted as the main point of contact and managed all communications between the senior management team and each marketing function, including budget management and project overview.
We fostered clear and effective communication through each project’s lifecycle, identifying and clearing potential roadblocks to ensure critical path timelines were kept. Setting clear goals and milestones was key for each project as was building strong working relationships with all parties.

We ensured a successful launch event when St James Quarter first opened, even after working around and through Covid restrictions as they evolved.

We supported the process for the appointment of partner agencies, effectively liaising and managing media, PR, research, digital, creative, commercialisation and event partners.

We provided Asset Marketing Director cover for six months and supported the recruitment and onboarding of the new Brand & Marketing Director.

We successfully managed a large-scale wayfinding and signage project, identifying challenges and providing solutions.

We project managed the Royal visit celebration, coordinating multiple teams and overseeing a successful event.

We managed the first Love Beauty consumer event in February 2022, which was such a success it was repeated in 2023.

We worked with the asset team and Edinburgh partners to leverage brand alignment.
