St James Quarter
St James Quarter is a vibrant lifestyle district in Edinburgh’s city centre, showcasing 1.7 million square feet of art, culture, fashion, food, and leisure venues. We were originally retained to provide marketing project management services to St James Quarter in 2020. Since then, we’re proud to have worked on a wide range of projects since it opened its doors and became the beating heart of Scotland’s capital.
The challenge
Our role was to support St James Quarter to ensure a successful opening. They needed an agency that could successfully integrate with the internal team; one that would be reactive and flexible enough to immerse themselves in St James Quarter’s world.
The solution
Our expertise in marketing project management allowed us to manage multiple workflows and keep each project on track during a very busy time for St James Quarter. We acted as the main point of contact between senior management and other project teams and held regular progress meetings to make sure every box was ticked. We enjoy working closely with our clients and their partners, so fostering strong working relationships was key.
Setting clear goals and milestones was also pivotal, and throughout each project’s lifecycle we cleared potential and existing roadblocks to ensure every deadline was met. We also used a range of project management tools to monitor progress and make sure we were on track to success.
The results
- We ensured a successful launch for St James Quarter, working with Covid restrictions as they evolved.
- We oversaw the appointment of great partner agencies, effectively managing media, PR, research, digital, creative, commercialisation and event partners.
- We provided Asset Marketing Director cover for six months and supported the recruitment and onboarding of the new Brand and Marketing Director.
- We successfully managed large-scale hoarding and signage projects, identifying challenges and providing cost-effective solutions.
- We project-managed several events with the onsite team, including the Royal official opening celebration and the first Love Beauty consumer event.
- We worked with the Asset Team and Edinburgh partners to leverage brand alignment.
Post opening, the Nuveen Real Estate development team asked us to project-manage future stages of the development including specific W Edinburgh projects. We continue to work with the team and are proud to be part of such an amazing project.
