Five ways to cherish that data

Five ways to cherish that data

Social media marketing experts Glasgow

They say love makes the world go round, but data makes our Whitewall hearts beat a little faster. D-day for the GDPR is 25 May 2018, so here’s five ways to show your data some TLC before then – it’ll love you back and then some.

1. Guard it like a precious gift

Never share your computer password if you store data on your desktop. If it’s in a paper format, keep it locked away in a gold-plated safe locked with a heart-shaped padlock… or a locked drawer if that’s all you have.

2. Does your data pass the GDPR-love test?

If you’re collecting data on site, make sure you follow the ICO guidelines and that consent is GDPR-compliant – speak to us if you need some tips.

3. Share the love

Make sure any data you collect wings its way to us – we’ll add it to your database with all your other lovely data.

4. Whisper sweet nothings

When you email data to us, make sure it’s in an encrypted or password-protected format – then call us to give us the password. We love to hear from you!

5. Parting is such sweet sorrow… but you have to kiss it goodbye!

Delete any data from your desktop using computer shredding software. If you don’t have any, we can recommend some free tools to do this with. And, remember, there’s no need to feel sad – we’ll take care of your dearly beloved data for you.

Remember, we love to hear from you so, if you’ve any questions on the GDPR, just ask.
