Railpen, established in 1965, manages a pension fund with over £34 billion in assets on behalf of 350,000 railway pension scheme members. The company focuses on diverse and resilient investment portfolios to safeguard both the interests of current members and those of future generations. A key example of this strategy was its recent investment in Cambridge and, as Railpen embarked on their investment and development in Cambridge, they required a bespoke Umbraco website that could effectively communicate the scale of the project to a diverse audience. Delivery of a user-friendly, accessible Umbraco website was the brief, but it also had to be capable of handling complex functionality. Featuring a flexible and scalable design to accommodate future updates and expansions, it had to prioritise security. Another key feature was beind SEO friendly to ensure visibility and impact in a competitive digital landscape, aligning with Railpen’s strategic approach to long-term value creation.

The solution:
A secure, scalable and user-friendly Umbraco website

To address Railpen’s unique requirements, a bespoke Umbraco website was designed using the Umbraco content management system (CMS). Working with our Umbraco development partner, Screenmedia, and the Railpen communications team, we developed a content strategy which would allow the broad target market to access, and understand, the key information quickly with the ability to easily navigate the website and deliver a great user experience.

The results:
