Monday 11 December may have seemed like any dark December morning to most of you, but it was a momentous and colourful day for Whitewall.
Eleven years after Susie recruited her first employee, 11 days after we opened our first advent calendar door, and 11 days before the office closes for Christmas (no pressure there!), the 11th of December was the day we launched our brand new look. Anyone who knows us (and by us, we mean Susie…) knows we love a back story, so here’s ours…
The name was originally inspired by a diving trip to the White Wall reef in Fiji, an adventure which felt surprisingly like starting a new business. It was a leap into the unknown, but Susie accepted the challenge with gusto, and submerged herself into turning her vision into a reality.
Roll on 13 years, and Whitewall is no longer a blank canvas – it’s been transformed into a place of warmth, colour and texture by the people who work here, and we wanted the new brand to reflect that.
We picked four vibrant new colours, choosing purple for our overarching company brand, with a separate mini-brand colour for each department: mustard for marketing, teal for digital, and orange for design.
Using these colours as our inspiration, we messed about with some tins of paint in Susie’s garage (sorry Susie – we hope you like your garage’s, em…, unique colour scheme!). We emerged a few hours later – paint splattered and exhausted – with a creative rationale to reflect both our past and our future.
Using a mixture of techniques, products and cameras, we’d created what you can now see across all our digital platforms – our very own splash of colour to launch the vibrant new Whitewall brand.
The future is bright. The future is Whitewall.
