Caroline Kennedy – New Kid on the Block
Caroline’s Warm WW Welcome
I’m Caroline Kennedy, 23, and I recently started as Digital Account Coordinator at Whitewall Marketing and Whitewave Associates. It’s only week ten, and I can honestly say I already feel like I’ve been part of the team for months! What a welcoming bunch they are here.
I graduated from Glasgow University in 2013 with an MA in English Language, and after a year of digital experience with a number of SMEs, I knew that marketing was for me. I wanted to find a new job that offered variety, challenge and the opportunity to be innovative – and Whitewall has exceeded all expectations. I would describe myself as a creative person, and right from the start I could tell that creativity was key to everything that takes place here – something that greatly attracted me to the company and the role.
My first week was spent meeting each member of the team and discovering what their role was before learning exactly where I would fit into the organisation. I soon discovered that whilst we each have our own responsibilities, it is very much a collaborative environment, which admittedly made the prospect of working in such a busy office less daunting!
As account coordinator I am based within the digital team. I have accounts for which I am responsible and I also lend a hand with website builds and retail liaison. It’s an incredibly varied role which presents different challenges each day, and that’s what I love about it. Our clients are truly passionate about their projects and the team are constantly monitoring and adapting content to ensure they’re always happy. I have also been fortunate to sit in on a few meetings where I have experienced the initial brainstorming that takes place at the beginning of a project and it’s amazing to watch – remember what I said about creativity at Whitewall?
I can only thank everyone here in the office for making me feel welcome, for putting up with my questions and for helping me settle in. My experience so far has been hard work and a lot of fun, and after only a few quick weeks I find myself excited at the prospect of what’s in store each day. The people are talented, the work is diverse, the office is bustling and I look forward to the future as part of the Whitewall team!
